Lubango — The secretary general of the Angolan Athletics Federation (FAA), Mota Gomes, defended on Saturday in Lubango city the construction of five athletics development centres in the provinces of Huíla, Luanda, Uíge, Kwanza Sul and Namibe.
The official said so to the press on Saturday at the end of the national marathon.
Mota Gomes said that it is needed to build two centres in Luanda and one centre in each other referred province so as to develop this sport.
The official suggested that the centres should be comprised by track, specific areas for training session.
He said that the federation has already been in touch with the Ministry of Youth and Sport in order to support this project.
According to him, the priority will be given to the expansion programme of athletics in the provinces of Luanda, Huambo, Namibe, Kwanza Sul, Bié, Benguela and Bengo that recorded some evolution.
