Sulley Muntari
Ghana international Sulley Muntari was not sure how his winning goal against Bolton managed to creep in.
The midfielder poked home an injury-time winner at the Reebok Stadium, with the goal variously credited to the Ghanaian international and as an own goal by defender Zat Knight.
Latching onto a through ball from Stephane Sessegnon, Muntari beat Jussi Jaaskelainen with an angled shot and the covering Knight succeeded only in helping the ball into his own net.
Amongst the post-match confusion Muntari claimed he’s not too bothered either way regarding the goal, preferring instead to focus on the team achieving a fourth away win of the season.
“The most important thing is we won the game, not that I scored,” said the midfielder, who came on as an 82nd-minute substitute.
“What matters is that the guys, the manager and the fans are all happy.
“The fans do not deserve anything but happiness and I am so pleased that we managed to get a result for them.”
He added: “The guys did a fantastic job.
“The manager made us understand that Bolton are a very difficult team to beat at home and we are very happy that we managed to do so.
