CEE-LO GREEN – GREEN & RASCAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS

Cee Lo Green and Dizzee Rascal are backing a new campaign to discourage illegal downloading.

The practise has become rife in recent years, but the Music Matters initiative, devised by Blur’s former manager Niamh Byrne, is asking internet users to think about the repercussions of not paying for tracks.

The campaign’s website directs fans to legal download portals which benefit artists – and chart stars have explained why music is so important to them.

Green says, “(Music) has given my life so much purpose and it has filled me with so much joy that my cup runneth over.”

Rascal states, “Music matters to me because it pays the bills”, while British pop star Paloma Faith adds, “Music matters to me because it articulates things in a way I couldn’t do, with my ridiculous use of the English language.”
