Akala’s re-election would have stopped godfatherism in Oyo – Olaosebikan

Re-election of the incumbent governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala, for a second term would have clearly ended  thuggery, favoritism  and godfatherism in the politics of the state and bring about the much needed stability in the polity, the chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, said in Abuja yesterday .

Olaosebikan declared that Alao-Akala had, through his actions and deeds, proved to be a matter-of-fact democrat with genuine love for the people and growth of the state.

According to the local government boss, the governor for about four years now, has been promoting good governance through fair and even distribution of projects and other dividends of democracy and as well shown unprecedented degree of care, compassion and  statesmanship in running the affairs of the state.

“Against what any of his opponents would say, Oyo State attained much higher levels of developments in all sectors including transportation, environment , health, education, commerce and agriculture during the last four years.

“Though mostly misunderstood or under rated, Governor Alao-Akala, with veritable facts and figures, has shown  that  he clearly understood politics and  government and acted in good faith in providing for the real needs of the people, using the resources of the state to create general wealth for all. Also he has proved to be a peace loving leader rather what some would out of hatred or bias want to call him.

“As a genuine democrat, for the first time in the history of democracy in Oyo State, it was during the time of Alao-Akala, as the leader of PDP, that aspirants into political offices were given level playing grounds to contest freely and the results of which were accepted by all without any acrimony whatsoever”.
