Jordin Sparks, the 21-year-old singer and former winner of American Idol, shocked fans earlier this week by tweeting a photo of herself in a bikini. Jordin Sparks, who recently lost a reported 30 pounds in weight, posted the image of herself posing in front of a mirror.
After gaining a flurry of complimentary messages from fans, Sparks spoke to Aol Music about her decision to tweet the image, saying, “Well, I was going to go lay out, and I was taking a picture, because I loved the bathing suit I was in. And it turned out so good and I was like, ‘Should I post this? Should I not? Should I post this, should I not? I have no idea. I don’t know what to do!” Sparks, who released her new single ‘I Am Woman’ this week, also spoke about her reasons for wanting to lose weight, saying, “Something just clicked with me back in December and I said, You know what? Instead of just talking about being active, I’m just going to go do it”. When pushed on her secrets for shedding the pounds, the 21-year-old spoke of “better portion control” and eating meals like “children alfredo”, adding, “Instead of having three servings, just eat slowly and go with the one and see if you’re still hungry after”.
Following the monumental success of her second album ‘Battlefield’, Jordin Sparks is set to release her currently untitled third studio album this summer.
