Luanda — The Health Minister, José Van-Dúnem, is paying on Tuesday a two-day visit to the south-west Namibe province, aimed at opening the celebrations of the International Nurse Day to be marked on 12 May.
Speaking to Angop at Luanda’s 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, the minister said that the visit is also aimed at checking the nurse’s activity in the region.
In January 1974, the decision was made to celebrate the day on 12 May as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing.
