Tanzania Daily News (Dar es Salaam) 28 April 2011 THE Ministry of Information, Youth, Culture and Sports has barred public show of five local films, because they contravene with Tanzania's cultural norms of human decency. A statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry said the Tanzania Film Censorship Board inspected 45 films last month and decided to expel public show of five films namely 'Mtoto wa Mama,' 'Inye', 'Inye Plus,' 'Inye Ndembendembe' and 'Inye Gwedegwede,' that are blamed for plunging the country into cultural and moral decay. The statement further said that the board barred the films because they are against the values and insults women especially those with big figures, while others are being blamed for promoting homosexuality, which in a criminal offence in Tanzania

At least 21 people have been killed in clashes between local Ahlu Sunah forces and Al-Shabaab militias in southern Somalia town on Wednesday.

The Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaa, moderate Islamists attacked Al-Shabaab, the Al Qaeda proxy in Somalia bases at Barwaaqo village about 20Kms south of Garabaharey district in Gedo region.

Witnesses confirmed to Garowe Online that Ahlu Sunna Islamists seized military bases from Al Shabaab about five Kilometres to Garabaharey district.

“Our troops attacked Al Shabaab radical militants bases in Barwaaqo village, we seized military bases from them and killed 36 militants and wounded dozens,” said Mohamed Abdi Kaliil, governor for Gedo region.

Kaliil adds that one Ahlu Sunah solider died in the fighting and five others injured and they will soon attack Garabaharey district to seize from Al Shabaab extremists.

Since February 2011 Ahlu Sunna Wal Jamaa Islamists captured three districts in southern Somalia from Al Shabaab extremist militias.
