Gambia, who were outclassed by the Ghana under 20 in the last qualifiers of the Africa Youth Championship are confident that their campaign to win their first silverware is still alive despite losing to Cameroon.

Over the past 20 years, as part of the Government of Eritrea’s bid to introduce modern road systems connecting all parts of the nation, according to the director general of Infrastructure Development Department of the Ministry of Public Works, Eng. Kidane Berhane.

Mr. Kidane, noted that the construction of new strategic road networks took place alongside the expansion and renovation of existing ones, and, as a result , presently, asphalted road systems extending over 1,300 Km. as well as dirt roads spanning 13,500 Km. connect regions of the country with one another.

Indicating that there’s a direct correlation between the construction of road systems and economic growth, the director general highlighted that positive results have been achieved from endeavors carried out in the construction of roads and bridges. He further went on to explain that there are plans to further improve and extend strategic routes such as the Barentu-Tessenei-Sudan route, Serejaka-Shebah route, Massawa-Foro-Assab route and others.
