Asmara, April 26,2011- International Malaria Day was marked yesterday, here in the capital under the banner theme “Progress for Development and Positive Change”.

In a statement it issued in connection with the Day, the Ministry of Health indicated that the Day is being marked at a time in which the past endeavors to contain malaria are accessed.

The statement went on to outline the various mechanisms that need to be effectively employed so as to completely eliminate the epidemic.

International Malaria Day is marked to increase public awareness about the epidemic.
