Namacunde — The Namibian Health Minister, Richard Kamwe, appealed on Monday in Namacunde district, eastern Cunene province, for the involvement of the local population in actions aimed at combating malaria in the common border between Angola and Namibia, and thus eradicate this disease.
Richard Kamwe said so to Angop on Monday during ceremony which marked the signing of a border protocol to combat malaria.
The minister said that this is a great challenge that both countries will have to develop along the common border.
He said that the involvement of the population is very important so as to achieve the outlined goals.
The two countries are committed to implement a technical cooperation for malaria control in bordering regions, creating effective mechanisms for the control and elimination of the disease in northern Namibia and southern Angola.
