AC Milan’s Massimiliano Allegri: Four More Points Will Secure Serie A Title

Massimiliano Allegri believes that AC Milan are on the verge of winning its 18th Italian championship and claims that four more points will see the club win the Scudetto for the first time since 2004.

Milan have an eight-point advantage over second placed Inter and also boast a better head-to-head record against its city rivals.

The Serie A title race could be decided this weekend if Milan defeat Bologna at San Siro on Sunday and Inter fail to beat Cesena away from home the day before.

“Maybe Sunday won’t be enough, but we should be thinking only of getting these four points and winning the title,” Allegri told Sky Italia.

Milan could also accomplish a rare double, as they are involved in the semi finals of the Coppa Italia.

Even though the former European champions were held to a 2-2 draw by Palermo in Milan in the first leg last week, Allegri is confident of progressing to the final and enthused: “There’s also an Italian Cup semi-final to play so we’ll try to achieve these two objectives which are the most important things.”

Milan last won the Coppa Italia in 2003.
