Galatasaray’s Lucas Neill Likely To Head Back To Australia in the summer

Galatasaray defender Lucas Neill is likely to leave the club in the summer when his contract expires and return to his native Australia, according to reports from Goal.com.

The former Everton defender joined the club in January 2010 on an 18-month contract but it appears unlikely that the player will be offered a new contract.

Neill, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury, is believed to favor a move back to his homeland in the summer, although no clubs have yet to make their interest in the Australia international official.

The Istanbul giants have endured a nightmare campaign and currently find themselves in 12th place, a massive 33 points off leaders Fenerbahce.

The 33-year-old’s Galatasaray team-mate and compatriot Harry Kewell also sees his contract expire in the summer with the former Liverpool winger another player who could move elsewhere.
