Luanda — Angola Basketball Federation (FAB) is negotiating with French coach Michel Gomez to manage the national senior males team, informed Sunday to ANGOP the chairman of the institution Gustavo da Conceição.
Speaking at the end of the Angola League Cup final, disputed between Petro de Luanda and Libolo, the official stated that the institution is searching a substitution to Luís Magalhães, but until the moment FAB did not sign contract with any coach.
Gustavo da Conceição considered it urgent to sign a new coach, stressing that besides the French, there are other candidates whose names he did not reveal.
The national team are ten times African champions, and will defend this African title in Madagascar, this year.
Coach Luís Magalhães, conquered the last continental title and led the team to Turkey Championship, but was sacked last week.
