Luanda — Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos, and the Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe, Patrice Emery Trovoada, held Thursday, a private meeting, at the Presidential Palace of the Cidade Alta, Luanda, where the visiting official was received with military honours.

After the singing of the national anthems of Angola and Sao Tome and Principe, passing in review the troops on parade and other ceremonial procedures, the two heads of government gathered separately in the same building as the talks were taking place between the ministerial delegations of the two countries.

No statement was given to the press, both after the ministerial talks, and the meeting between Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos and the premier of the Central African Nation, Patrice Emery Trovoada.

It is assumed that the evaluation of bilateral relations and new directions of cooperation have been the focus of conversation in both events, in so far as Angola and Sao Tome and Principe cooperate in various fields such as Defence and Security, Oil, Education, Agriculture, Social Communication and other areas of common interest.

Prime Minister of Sao Tome and Principe, Patrice Emery Trovoada, who arrived Wednesday in Luanda for a two-day working visit to Angola, is scheduled to return today to his country.

In this trip, Patrice Emery Trovoada was accompanied by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Manuel Salvador dos Ramos, and the Secretary-General of the Government of Sao Tome and Principe, Antonio da Graça.
