The two sides lock horns at San Siro on April 2 and Shevchenko has voiced his opinion that Milan will go on to win the Scudetto if they pick up the full three points against their city rivals.
“Milan have dropped many points in the past few weeks and they’ve been very unlucky lately,” Shevchenko was quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport.
“However, I think they have what it takes to win the derby against Inter. Victory in the derby will be crucial in the title race. A big sporting success like that will give Milan a huge psychological advantage over Inter.”
Milan currently sit first in the table with 62 points from 30 games, but second placed Inter have narrowed the gap behind their rivals to two points following their run of good form.
