Benzema appeared to be on his way out of the Santiago Bernabeu in the winter transfer window, but eventually stayed put and has developed into Madrid’s star player in recent weeks.
“The recent development of Karim Benzema at Real Madrid has motivated me. He appeared to be on his way out of Madrid in January, but has since proven that he’s a great player and a prolific goalscorer. That’s given me the strength and belief that I can do the same. I’ve always scored lots of goals and will continue to do so,” said Bojan to Sport.
The young attacker went on to say that he’s determined to stay at Barcelona and that he’ll do his utmost to help the club to success.
“My goal is to focus on doing my best this season. My situation changed for the better toward the end of last season and something similar could happen. I really want to stay put and will fight to succeed here. I’m already playing at the best club in the world.”
The 20-year-old has scored 25 goals in 100 La Liga appearances for the Blaugrana, but is largely a peripheral figure at the Camp Nou.
