The Police in Ondo State have said they would soon secure the release of Mrs Mafe Ibrahim, mother of businessman Jimoh Ibrahim.
The-65-year-old woman was kidnapped by four gunmen at Igbotako, Okitipupa Local Government, last Sunday.
Police spokesman Adeniran Aremu said detectives were closing in on her captors.
Aremu said: “We decided not to make frequent comments on our efforts so far in securing Mrs Ibrahim’s freedom for security reasons. This is to facilitate her safe release.”
It was learnt that the police have arrested five suspects linked with the abduction.
A source said the suspects were assisting the police in their investigation.
