Lazio midfielder Cristian Brocchi says it will be his side’s ambition to claim a Champions League spot next season in order to forget about their recent 2-0 Derby della Capitale loss to Roma.
The Biancocelesti currently sit in fifth place on 54 points, only two points behind fourth-placed Udinese and a further three points adrift of third-placed Napoli.
“I know how much the derby match means to the fans, but we must now think about reaching another important objective: the Champions League,” the 35-year-old told Eurosport.
“This will be the only way the fans will forgive us for another loss to Roma.”
Brocchi has made 25 league appearances so far this campaign. The Aquile had a 1-0 victory over Cesena last weekend and take on Napoli after the international break.
