IBADAN – Governor Alao-Akala through Mr. Moronkola Thomas, Director of Media and Publicity for the Akala/Arapaja Campaign Organisation said PDP’s towering image should not be rubbed in the mud as regards the DDC machines.

He said: “The leadership of the ACN has also been going around spreading the same unfounded rumour. The Oyo PDP wishes to state without any equivocation that no PDP person has either been involved or arrested in relation with such things in Oyo State”.

A former Governor in the state, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, who is an ACN chieftain, yesterday alleged that no fewer than six Direct Data Capture Machines which have names of registered voters have been doctored.

According to the governor’s campaign office, information available to the party had it that the men arrested with the laptops were INEC officials without any link to the PDP.

“Why the leaders of the ACN  are trying strenuously to link the PDP with the incident is clear. The impending electoral defeat awaiting both the ACN and the Accord Party in the April general elections is not easy to accept, so they have to do anything to discredit the PDP”, he said.

Akala further stated that the PDP was aware of the plans of both the ACN and the Accord Party to mount discrediting propaganda against it as the elections  ahead of the April elections, saying “such plans will fail as the earlier ones they had done in video a few weeks back.”
