Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has admitted that the Copa del Rey round of 16 matches against Malaga will be hard for his side.
Friday’s draw determined that Madrid will lock horns with Manuel Pellegrini’s side in a two-legged affair, with a clash against Barcelona in line if both clubs progress in the competition.
Casillas is anticipating a difficult task against Malaga and noted that his side’s 4-0 La Liga victory against the Andalusians in October will be hard to repeat.
“Malaga are a complicated rival, they are a good team and if we want to go through, we will need to have a great match at the Bernabeu,” he said on his Facebook page.
“In La Liga, we managed to get a result which did not match what Malaga did on the pitch. This will be a nice tie.”
The first legs of the last-16 matches will take place on January 4, while the return games are scheduled for a week later.
