Collins Mbesuma
Golden Arrows striker Collins Mbesuma has joined the Zambian squad in Johannesburg for their preparations ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mbesuma and other South African-based players Kennedy Mweene, Noah Chivuta, Clifford Mulenga, Chintu Kampamba, David Nkausu and Isaac Chansa trained with the group for the first time on Wednesday.
His Arrows teammate, Joseph Musonda, linked up with Zambian-based players in Lusaka on Monday before making the trip to South Africa.
Chipolopolo team manager Lusekelo Kamwambi confirmed the arrival of the seven players to Zambia’s Daily Mail.
“I am happy to confirm that Kennedy, Collins, Chintu, Clifford, Isaac and Noah joined us this morning (yesterday),” said Kamwambi.
“Their arrival brings the number of foreign-based players coach Herve Renard has summoned for the final lap of preparations to 18.”
Zambia will play an international friendly against South Africa on January 11 before starting their AFCON campaign with a match against Senegal on January 21.
