The report published in the Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper announcing that Ennahda has invited the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, to Tunisia to celebrate the anniversary of the Tunisian revolution, is untrue.
According to Nejib Gharbi, a member of the executive office of Ennahda the list of heads of state who will be invited to the celebration is still under discussion, no final list has been announced and the report in Al Quds Al Arabi is speculation. A final list of the invited heads of state will be released during the first week of January.
Tunisia will celebrate the one-year anniversary of the departure of former President Zine El Abddine Ben Ali on January 14, 2012.
The London based Pan-Arab newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi, published a report on December 27, stating that the Emir of Qatar will be visiting Tunisia on January 14, among several international figures, such as French President Nicolas Sarkozy and the President of the National Transitional Council of Libya, Mustapha Bin Abdeljalil.
