Efforts by national team handlers to raise a formidable home-based squad may be hindered now and again as some of the best players locally hardly play long enough to be part of the rebuilding process.
The latest case is that of Kalu Uche who is scheduled to depart for Morocco , this Saturday to put pen to paper for Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) of Morocco. Before now, Chibuzor Okonkwo, had left the national camp for trials with Aston Villa, the results are yet to be seen.
However Kalu’s case is slightly different, as the Moroccan club is said to have finalised details with Enyimba International of Aba for the sleeky striker and he is merely expected to go there and pen the deal.
Meanwhile, at least four players have been released by the national team technical crew for this weekend Charity Shield between league champions, Dolphins of Port Harcourt and Federation Cup kings, Heartland of Owerri in Kaduna, during the NFF Annual General Meeting (AGM).
