Many customers yesterday besieged some banks in Abuja after the expiration of the Christmas public holidays declared by the federal government.
Our reporter observed long queues in some banks with customers making hasty withdrawals and other transactions.
A customer, Jonathan Samuel, said he was at the bank to make some withdrawals after exhausting all his money during the festive period.
“I don’t like using ATM cards because it makes me withdrawal money unnecessary,” he stated.
He said he has been on queue for a long time trying to cash his cheque.
Also speaking on the Issue, Esther Omokaro, said she came to make withdrawals because the ATM machines disappointed her during the public holidays.
“I have been managing the little money on me and looking forward to the end of the public holidays,” she added.
Olanipekun, another customer, said he came to deposit money and was surprised to see a long queue that delayed him.
