Newcastle United defender Davide Santon is settling well into life at the club following his summer switch from Inter.
The 20-year-old left-back is pleased to be getting his career back on track in the Premier League, after a turbulent few years in Italy.
Santon has recently recovered from injury and is impressing in Newcastle’s starting XI, with his agent revealing he is enjoying life in the north-east.
“He’s not missing Italy, absolutely not,” Contratto told BundesLigaPremier.
“Davide is very happy in England and he’s not missing his homeland or Italian football in general. He’s working hard on a daily basis with so much enthusiasm.
“These first few months have been useful so that he can settle,” he added. “Unfortunately injuries have slowed down his progress.
“However, he has a promising future and he is a part of the project at Newcastle.
“Once he also learns the language then he will be totally ready. Davide has talent and the desire to work. It’s just a matter of time.”
Newcastle visit Anfield to face Liverpool on Friday, with Andy Carroll likely to line-up against his former club.
