Hoffenheim confirmed on their official website that they have completed the transfer of 18-year-old midfielder Sandro Wieser from Basel.

Wieser has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the village club, which will expire in 2016.

“We are pleased to be able to tie down, on a long-term contract, a German-speaking player who is also a top talent,” Hoffenheim sporting director Ernst Tanner said.

“He already has experience of international football with his country, despite his young age, and has already proven his potential. Here he will find the perfect conditions to continue his development and establish himself in the Bundesliga.”

Wieser, a Liechtenstein international, has already earned 10 senior caps for country. A fee for his release has not been disclosed.
