Prime Minister Dr. Kamal El Ganzouri said Egypt is about to draw up a new constitution that deepens the value of democracy, freedom, power transition and would bid farewell to the era of the ill reputed constrictions.
Ganzoury made his remarks during the press conference which was held after the Cabinet meeting at the General Authority for Investment on 28/12/2011.
Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri described the current political climate in Egypt as “uneasy”.
“During the early months of the revolution, we were united, but something has intervened to separate us,” he said.
Asked about the possibility of launching an initiative to attain unity, Ganzouri said that he stands fully ready to meet with any group or coalition for the sake of the country’s interest.
He further called on all Egyptians to unite in order to achieve the demands and goals of the revolution.
About security file, the prime minister said he telephones the minister times daily adding he is optimistic over the restoration of confidence between the police and citizens.
Morover, Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri said that holding Cabinet meetings outside its premises does not undermine the state’s prestige.
It is possible to hold the meetings at any site in Egypt, he added. Ganzouri, meanwhile, said that he decided to hold the Cabinet meeting outside its premises so as not to say that the Cabinet sit-in was forcibly dispersed in order to allow holding meetings at the Cabinet’s premises.
Police forces did not intervene in the clashes which took place in Kasr el-Aini for two days, he affirmed.
Ganzouri insisted his government is meant to save the revolution and is working hard so that the outcome of its efforts is felt by ordinary citizens.
Sworn in, the government has since been working through four commissions to cater to the needs of families of martyrs and the injured, restore security, revive the economy and activate halted projects, Ganzouri told the press conference.
He said the social solidarity pension has been increased from L.E. 150 toL.E.200 per month adding a sum of L.E. 150 will be provided on a monthly basis to hand over 76,000 housing units to the limited income brackets.
About unemployment, he particularly focused on projects in Toshka, Sinai, East Auwainat and the Northern Coast, seeing in those areas all potentials needed for a successful business.
He said a centre will be established under the supervision of the ministry of trade and industry to assist youth to establish small size projects adding a sum of L.E.200 million has been assigned for financing this centre.
Ganzoury said the social fund for development will also provide 300 million dollars for the centre, adding this move comes within the framework of the government efforts to mitigate the problem of unemployment, adding a mission from the international monetary fund will arrive next Wednesday.
