Khartoum — The Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) have attacked citizens in Um Gozen, Armel, Goz Ubyad and Wad Benjda areas of North Kordofan, said the Sudanese army spokesman Alsoarma Khaled Saad.

The spokesman said the army are sweeping the area to pursue the rebels.

JEM strongly denies targeting any citizens, and accuses the Sudanese army of bombing civilians in those areas of North Kordofan, causing casualties amongst civilians, destroying livestock and water resources, said Gibril Adam Bilal spokesman of JEM.

The spokesman also declared the launch of the main battle to overthrow the regime in Khartoum. Following decisions of forces of the movement, and a declaration issued by the political committee of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, he stated that they take down the regime by all means, including military action.

‘All SRF forces will go to Kordofan and Khartoum, the entry is the beginning and end of the battle in Khartoum’, said Bilal.
