The problems in the Peoples National Convention (PNC) may not end anytime soon. A senior member of the party, Dr. Somtim Tobiga is asking an Accra High Court to, as a matter of urgency, restrain the party from holding its national delegates congress.

He already has a case pending in the courts against the party.

Mr. Tobiga however says the latest motion is to prevent current executive members including General Secretary Bernard Monarh from holding themselves out as executives of the party because their term has expired.

He wants the executives to hand over the party to the Council of Elders ahead of the Congress.

But the party’s General Secretary, Bernard Monarh, in reaction to the court case said Dr. Tobiga has a hidden agenda to destroy the party.

He said the suit is going to prevent the party from organizing its ranks as it prepares for the upcoming general elections in 2012, adding the party’s performance at the poll will be abysmal as a result of the court action.
