Odigie for Rangers
Former Nigeria U17 team coach Monday Odigie is to assist new Enugu Rangers coach Okey Emordi.
Officials informed MTNFootball.com that Odigie, who has been in Enugu around ‘The Flying Antelopes’, will resume fully with the club on Tuesday.
Odigie led Bayelsa United to win the 2009 Nigeria Premier League. He assisted Samson Siasia at the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup.
He failed to qualify the Golden Eaglets to the 2011 African Junior Championship in Rwanda after he had assisted John Obuh to guide the team to the final of the 2009 U17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria.
“Monday (Odigie) will be Emordi’s assistant and he will resume work fully on Tuesday,” a club official disclosed.
Former Enyimba coach Emordi has replaced Alphonsus Dike, who quit his post recently.
He has finally agreed terms with Rangers even though it was reported that another NPL side Shooting Stars were willing to pay him more.
The vastly experienced Emordi is returning to his former post at Rangers and will be expected to win a major trophy for the coal city team after almost 30 years without such.
