Tanzania: SC Kiyovu Set Simba On Target

    SIMBA rivals in the Confederation Cup SC Kiyovu of Rwanda are setting their weapons right to gun down the Msimbazi Street side and go past the group stage of the continental second tier club competition.

    Milovan Cirkovic men have been paired against SC Kiyovu of Rwanda and will kick off their campaigns away in Kigali on the weekend of February 17 to 19, before playing hosts to the Rwandese on the weekend of March 2 to 4 in Dar es Salaam.

    An in run up to the corresponding fixtures, SC Kiyovu coach Jean Baptist Kayiranga has urged his side to reach the group stages of next year’s Confederation Cup.

    Despite the odds being against his side, Kayiranga has urged his players to wrestle their way to the group stages. “First, we have to reach the next round and to do that, we have to eliminate Simba.

    This is a new challenge for the boys but they are professional enough to cope with the competitiveness of the tournament,” a confident Kayiranga told the New Times of Rwanda on Saturday.

    To achieve his target, Kayiranga has revealed that he will reinforce the squad before the competition. Standing on Simba’s path if, they see off Kiyovu in the preliminary round of the 9th Confederation Cup will Algeria’s Es Setif.

    Teams that have been give a bye to the first round of the Confederation Cup are ES Setif (Algeria), Interclube (Angola), Asec Mimosas (CĂ´te d’Ivoire), Enppi (Egypt), AS Real Bamako (Mali), CO de Bamako (Mali), CO Meknès (Morocco), WAC (Morocco), Warri Wolves (Nigeria), Heartland (Nigeria), St. Eloi Lupopo (RD Congo), Us Tshinkunku (RD Congo), El Amal Otbara (Sudan), Al Ahly Shandy (Sudan), CSS (Tunisia), CA of Tunisia.
