QPR manager Neil Warnock has described Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney as “different class” following a man of the match performance in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win at Loftus Road.

Warnock told Sky Sports: “Rooney was different class, you don’t realise how good he is till you seen him live. He hardly gave the ball away yet I think they were disappointed with him.”

The 63-year-old went on to admit his side were well beaten on the day, though says it is by no-means a formality that United will win the Premier League.

“You could toss a coin between any of the top sides, they have all got opportunities,” he continued.

“That includes Tottenham and Arsenal, I wouldn’t write anybody off. There’s not a lot between them.

“Manchester United have shown what a good squad they’ve got. I don’t think you can say who will win the league, it’s going to be closest for many years.”

QPR have struggled at home this season, managing only one win at Loftus Road so far and Warnock has made it clear he intends to buy a striker in the upcoming January transfer window to add some cutting edge.

He added: “The two goals were sloppiness in midfield and they punished us both times.

“It would have been interesting if we scored. DJ’s was a peach of a chance. It would have been nice to see them under the cosh for the last 15 minutes.

“I thought we owed it to the fans to give them a game. They were better than us but you would expect that from the champions.

“We’ve struggled scoring goals and we’ve struggled for numbers, that’s why it’s good January is coming.”
