A man crossing a Durban highway was killed after being hit by a petrol tanker, paramedics said on Saturday.
“The man had been crossing the bustling freeway when he misjudged the speed of the truck and ran into its path,” said Netcare 911’s Jeffrey Wicks.
He said the tanker struck the man and then rode over his body.
The truck driver was unhurt.
In a separate incident, thirteen people were injured when a car and two minibuses collided on the N2 near the Wansbeck Bridge in Sydenham.
The injured were stabilised on the scene before being transported to various hospitals. – Sapa
