Goal : Santos strike partners Neymar and Borges have hailed their side’s 3-1 victory over Kashiwa Reysol in the Club World Cup semi-final, and are looking forward to a potential final against Barcelona.
The attacking duo gave the Brazilian side a 2-0 lead at half-time with a goal each, before Hiroki Sakai pulled one back for the Japanese team.
However, a Danilo free kick ensured the Vila Belmiro outfit’s safe passage through to the next round.
Neymar scored the opener for Muricy Ramalho’s men, and explained his goal.
“I was going to shoot at first, but then I saw the defender coming in too fast, so I changed. I improvised at the end,” he told reporters after the game.
The Brazil international forward is also glad to get the first game out of the way, and will now pay close attention to the Camp Nou side’s game on Thursday.
“It’s complicated to lose in the first match, as happened to Internacional unfortunately last year. We played a great match and took a big step.
“Now we’ll watch Barcelona. Every time Barca play everyone likes to watch, as they are the best team in the world,” he concluded.
