Phoenix Insurance Company Limited has paid $471,798.29 claim to compensate Seagate Resource(GH) Limited for losses it suffered as a result of flooding in parts of Accra some few weeks ago.
Located at the industrial area in Accra, Seagate Resources Limited – a privately owned company that deals in general goods, electrical appliances, car batteries and provisions – lost most of their items when torrential rains ravaged their premises.
Marketing Manager of the company, M.K. Sreejidh, told journalists in Accra that his outfit – which has a fire and allied peril policy with Phoenix Insurance – sought help and were surprised the company responded with urgency.
During a presentation ceremony Wednesday, Managing Director of Phoenix Insurance Sonny Heward-Mills said: “We are happy we’ve been able to put a smile on the face of one of our clients.”
“This is a sign that insurance companies pay claims,” he added, saying that Phoenix has made similar payments to many other clients.
