Contrary to reports in the Cameroonian press, the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) has denied it imposing sanctions on Indomitable Lions captain Samuel Eto’o, vice captain Enoh Eyong, and Tottenham’s Benoît Assou-Ekotto after a hearing on Monday.

The Fecafoot secretary general Tombi a Roko Sidiki said the disciplinary committee was still deliberating and would announced its verdict no later than next Friday.

“It’s false information. Somebody leaked it out to the press even before the end of deliberation,” Sidiki said.

“The commission is still doing some verifications of information before deciding on a verdict, which is due to land no later than two days from today.”

Earlier reports had suggested that the disciplinary committee handed Eto’o a seven-match ban while Eyong was given four, and Assou-Ekotto three.

However, local observers suggest the commission seems to be retracting after the news of sanction took the central African nation by storm, with frustrations set to build up.
