Skipper Lawal offloaded
NPL side Shooting Stars have sensationally placed the club captain Sakiru Lawal and one-time league hotshot Kabiru Alausa on transfer alongside 17 other players.
The club manager Mutiu Adepoju, who is now acting coach of the team, confirmed this to MTNFootball.com Wednesday.Â
“This is a normal routine in every club and it is aimed at restructuring the team as the new season draws nearer. It would also give room for other younger players to prove themselves,” Adepoju disclosed.
Skipper Lawal made history as the first player to score at the Abuja National Stadium, while Alausa top scored in the league when he was at Julius Berger. He also scored five goals this past season for the Ibadan club.
The other players affected by this purge are Saburi Omoyayi, Tope Orelope, Timothy Idogbe, Kareem Shuaibu, Lekan Gabriel, Festus Iyoma, Yinka Morenikeji, Wale Ladipo, Sunday Adeyemi, Afolabi Seun, Babatunde Yusuf, Daniel Adegbola, Akeem Olanihun, Yinka Akande, Obiozor Chinoso, Femi Ogungbade and Supreme Arapaja.
