AC Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has taken a swipe at Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez despite the striker appearing close to a move to the Italian champions.
The veteran Dutchman has claimed that money is the first thing on Tevez’s mind when it comes to negotiating a transfer, with the 27-year-old currently representing his fifth club.
Tevez has fallen out of favour at City and he appears close to a move away from the Premier League with Seedorf’s current employers and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly in the driving seat to sign the striker.
Milan vice-president, Adriano Galliani has already confirmed that the Serie A side have agreed personal terms with the Argentine, but Seedorf is not convinced he will be joining.
“Looking back at his career, his agents and every move he has ever made, I think Tevez will go where they can promise him the most money,” Seedorf told Sky Sport Italia.
“Milan would be the first time in his life that he has chosen a club for his career rather than the money. We’ll see what happens.”
The midfielder was speaking after Milan’s disappointing 2-2 draw with Bologna in Serie A on Sunday, and he praised the decision from the referee not to award a penalty to the opposition for a debatable handball from the former Real Madrid man himself.
“The referee was just 10 metres away. From the television footage it looks like a penalty but I know the ball struck me on the shoulder,” he added.
Milan are back in action next Saturday evening when they entertain Siena at San Siro.
