    Re-registration cards VS guarantees

He furthermore added that the displaced do not reject the idea of reinstating registration cards, but that they want guarantees from WFP officials that these would not be used as an instrument of pressure to make them return to their original villages. “The displaced will not return as refugees to their villages unless their case has been solved,” Mr. Rahman added.

In addition, the displaced people expressed their mistrust of Sudanese people working in international organizations, and asked for a visit to the camp by senior WFP officials so they can personally vouch for their intentions and give them guarantees.

Last, Mr. Rahman denied the statement made by WFP coordination director Adham Muslim about the rejection by three sheikhs of the re-registration cards: “the sheikhs reflect the opinion of the displaced,” he told Radio Dabanga
