TEAMtalk : Kyle Walker insists there is no reason why Tottenham should not be considered contenders to lift the Premier League title this season.
Harry Redknapp’s men have enjoyed a scorching run of results to leave them third in the table, prompting suggestions they could end their 50-year wait for a league trophy this term.
While England international Walker insists Spurs are not getting carried away and are focused on their trip to Stoke on Sunday, he refuses to rule them out of the title race.
Speaking at the Sportingbet Fans Forum, 21-year-old Walker said: “It’s not impossible. It’s not a fact that we can’t, so why not?
“If we keep playing the football we do, who knows where we can finish up?
“But we are not getting big-headed. We are looking forward to the game against Stoke.”
He added of Sunday’s clash at the Britannia: “These are the sort of games you need to pick up three points from if you are going to be contenders.
“You know what you are going to get from Stoke – the long throw-ins and the knockdowns, while Peter Crouch poses a threat as we well know.
“Anything they throw at us we are more than capable of dealing with.”
