Jack Wilshere is looking to return to the Arsenal first team in January.
The teenage midfielder has not played a competitive fixture all season for the Gunners after picking up an ankle injury on international duty in the summer.
Wilshere told SkySports: “It’s coming along well, I’m working hard in the gym every day and feel I’m in good hands at Arsenal.
“We’ve had a few injured at Arsenal in recent years, like Aaron Ramsey but they are helping me through it.
“I can’t put a specific date on it, but some time in January I’m hoping for if all goes well.”
Arsenal initially looked as though they would suffer through Wilshere’s absence after a poor start to the season, but Arsene Wenger’s side have turned their fortunes around of late and now seem back on track to earn a Champions League spot, or maybe more.
When asked about Arsenal’s Premier League title chances, Wilshere said: “Why not? Manchester City are strong favourites but if we carry on our run we’ll keep plugging away.
“Hopefully towards the end of the season they will slip up and we will keep going.”
