The agent of Vasco da Gama defender Dede has seemingly ruled out a transfer involving his client in January.
In an exclusive interview with Goal.com, his representative Julian Aranda appeared to have quelled talk of a move away for the 23-year-old, who has reportedly garnered the interest of Benfica, as well as Italian giants Juventus.
“Dede is very happy at Vasco, a great team who have just missed out on winning the Brasilerao and has just had a substantial increase in salary,” explained Aranda. “The duration of the contract has not changed, it still expires in 2014.”
However, despite his admission, Aranda remained coy over the prospect of a club potentially meeting Dede’s release clause in the near future, although it is unlikely to be Roma, who the agent admits hasn’t heard from thus far.
“I think that a transfer in January is out of question, unless they reach an offer that makes everyone happy,” he continued. “For the moment that has not yet arrived.
“Roma? I’ve read the newspapers, but nobody has talked to me [about a potential move].”
The clause currently stands at €20 million, and it is expected that Dede will stay put with Cristoval Borges’ men at least until the end of the 2012 Copa Libertadores.
