Bayern Munich Chief Executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says the club will not sign any more South Americans.
The former West Germany international believes that the Bavarians need to focus on developing home-grown talent rather than purchasing players from overseas.
The Bavarians have long had a strong affiliation with the continent, and currently have Brazilians Breno, Rafinha and Luiz Gustavo on their books.
However, Rummenigge said it “makes no sense” that Bayern have so many South American players and wants the club to focus on producing more home-grown starlets in future.
“That is the main focus – and for less in other countries or continents,” the 56-year-old told Sport-Bild.
