Liverpool’s Luis Suarez charged by FA over alleged gesture to Fulham fans

    Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been charged with improper conduct by the FA after an alleged gesture towards the Fulham fans. The Reds have also been charged for failing to control their players after the sending off of Jay Spearing.

    Both incidents occurred during Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat at Craven Cottage on Monday, and the FA have issued a statement confirming the charges Liverpool and Suarez face.

    “Liverpool Football Club have been charged by the FA with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion, following the dismissal of Jay Spearing.

    “The charge is in relation to Liverpool’s Premier League fixture at Fulham on December 5, 2011. The club has until 4pm on Monday, December 12 to respond to the charge.

    “

    Luis Suarez has also been charged following an incident in the same game. The Liverpool player is charged with improper conduct, in relation to an alleged gesture made towards the Fulham fans at the end of the fixture.

    “The player has until 4pm on Monday, December 12 to respond to the charge.”

    This is the second time Suarez has been charged this season after allegations of racial abuse towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra were looked into by the FA.
