The death toll resulting from fresh violence in the Northern Region town of Gushiegu has risen to six.
The six persons are reported to be Fulani herdsmen, according to District Chief Executive of the area Alhaji Alhasan Fuseini.
Though the killings happened in the Kokomba area Alhaji Fusein told Asempa FM Wednesday he cannot confirm they were executed by the Kokomba people.
Police are unable to immediately tell what caused the violence, but regional Police Commander, ACP George Tuffuor, earlier said ten people have also sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile the DCE noted three of the injured were in critical condition and had been transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
He revealed the incident took place at dawn and assured the Police are on the ground making sure there is no further disturbance.
Alhaji Fuseini said the chiefs in the area had been invited for talks into ways of ensuring peace returns to the area.
