Johannesburg – About 40 people were injured when the bus they were travelling in overturned in Mid-Illovo, near Durban, on Sunday evening, paramedics said.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found passengers ejected from the vehicle and scattered over a wide area, said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha in a statement.
Most of the passengers had sustained minor to moderate injuries, he said.
ER24 spokesperson Andre Visser said that two men sustained severe head and chest injuries and one was airlifted to hospital.
Seven people had suspected back and neck injuries.
The injured were stabilised at the scene and then taken to various hospitals in the region. – Sapa
