Luanda — The National team of women’s five-a side football left Saturday for Sao Paulo, Brazil, to take part in the second edition of the FIFA/2012 World Championship of the sport, taking place in Fortaleza City, from 5 to 12 December.
The 19-member delegation, including 12 athletes, four members of the technical team, led by head-coach Ricardo Batalha, a physical therapist and information assistant, is headed by Aderito Berreto, the technical director of the Angolan Federation of Five-a-side Football (FAFUSA).
For the competition, the coach selected the athletes Ilda, Marina, Loyde, Nadi, Irene Gonçalves, Carla, Tárcia, Suraya, Zenilda, Joyce, Quinita and Julia.
The assistant coaches José Simões and Pick Gourgel are also part of the delegation.
This is the first time Angola is taking part in this kind of tournament sponsored by FIFA, said the coach, who expressed hope to obtain good results in the competition.
