The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Dahiru Musdapher yesterday frowned at judges who grant ex-part e injunctions on frivolous grounds.

Musdapher spoke yesterday in Abuja during his meeting with the President of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights Hon. Justice Gerard Niyungeko.

In a statement signed by his media adviser, Mohammed Adamu, the CJN stated that issuance of injunction orders to circumvent justice was obnoxious, citing as particularly obnoxious, the granting of orders against investigation, arrest or prosecution of persons.

According to him, “granting such injunctions was not only contrary to the doctrine of the rule of law but monumentally counter productive especially to the fight against corruption.”
