    The Egyptian Stock Exchange regained 20.5 billion pounds at the close of trading on Thursday 01/12/2011.

    The benchmark index EGX 30 gained 1.69 percent to reach 4087.89 points. The EGX 70 index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) rose 2.7 percent to 468.31 points.

    The all-embracing EGX 100 index gained 2.1 percent taking the index up to 721.08 points.

    Brokerages in the Egyptian Stock Exchange said that the political stability, which appeared through holding the first phase of the parliamentary elections, was reflected positively on its performance.
