Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association and Sporting Director of Tema Youth, Winfred Osei Palmer says he is the new Mourinho of football after guiding his team to a win in their week 9 fixture of the on-going Glo Premier League with Heart of Lions.
The Sporting Director of the club had a fall out with his Coach; Tony Lokko after the latter failed to see reason with a suggestion by made by the former.
According to Winfred Osei Palmer, the success or demise of club will be associated with him since he had been key cog in the technical management of the team and so if he had not taken that hard decision to side step his coach the repercussions would be unbearable.
In an interview on Asempa Fm’s Sports Morning Show on Thursday, he said although the decision was a hard one, his quest to make Tema Youth one of the enviable clubs in the country and experience in the game aided him in taking that risk.
I am very happy the decision I took did not backfire, winning at the lion’s den is no joke,” sounding relieved.
When asked if he was going to continue as the Coach, he said he did not know it himself.
He however thanked the assistant coach holding the fort with him and hopes their marriage yield good dividends.
Tema Youth defeated Kpando Heart of Lions 1-0 at their own backyard, yesterday in one of the week 9 fixtures in the ongoing Glo Premier League.
